Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Project Arcana is an interactive digital entertainment and self-reflection service. The service operator and public contact information are published on the Legal Notice. “Arcana”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that operator. Support is available through Support / Contact.

2. What Arcana provides

Arcana provides automated Tarot readings, Tarot-card and spread reference content, astrology-inspired content, saved-reading tools, and related digital features. The service is designed for entertainment, reflection and journaling. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, mental-health, emergency or other professional advice, and it does not guarantee predictions, outcomes or events.

3. Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase paid access or use age-gated Arcana features. We may require an age-policy acknowledgement before account or paid access.

4. Accounts

Some features can be used without an account. Account features may use supported third-party identity providers. You are responsible for maintaining access to your identity-provider account and for activity performed through your Arcana account, except where applicable law provides otherwise. Do not share authentication tokens or attempt to access another person’s account.

Signed-in users can permanently delete their Arcana account from Account / Settings. Deletion removes active/private account data as described in the Privacy Policy, but it does not require Arcana to erase minimum transaction or legal records that must be retained. If you later register again, deletion does not reset protected introductory or free-use allowances whose eligibility or cooldown is still active under the applicable policy.

5. Paid access, prices and payment

Before purchase, Arcana will show the product or subscription, price and currency, billing period or duration, renewal behaviour, and any material eligibility or territorial limitation that applies. Public MVP consumer checkout uses a hosted Merchant-of-Record payment flow in markets Arcana makes available for checkout. The hosted checkout presents the transaction amount and applicable indirect tax information before payment confirmation. Arcana does not implement its own VAT/GST/sales-tax rate table and does not collect or store raw payment-card PAN or CVV.

At MVP launch, the paid offer is Full Access Monthly, an ongoing month-to-month digital-service subscription. It is billed once per month at the price and currency shown immediately before the order is placed. There is no 3-month or 12-month minimum commitment in the launch plan. Any longer commitment plan shown as “Coming soon” is not an available offer and does not alter the current monthly subscription. Paid access begins only after Arcana receives verified payment/provider state and activates the corresponding entitlement. Full Access Monthly renews each month until cancelled.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel Full Access Monthly before a future renewal. Ordinary cancellation stops the next and later renewals. Unless applicable law or the payment provider requires otherwise, paid access remains available through the already-paid current monthly period and cancellation does not itself create an automatic prorated refund. See Refunds & cancellation.

7. Refunds, withdrawal and disputes

Statutory consumer rights and payment-provider-required remedies take priority over Arcana’s voluntary policies. Arcana may also consider voluntary goodwill refund requests submitted within 14 calendar days of the relevant successful charge; submitting a request does not guarantee a refund. The detailed policy, process and exclusions are on the Refunds & cancellation page.

If paid access starts during a statutory withdrawal period, Arcana uses the checkout confirmations required for the applicable contract type. For this ongoing digital service, requesting immediate access does not by itself mean that a withdrawal right is lost; where the law allows it and the required conditions are met, a consumer who requested immediate performance and later withdraws may owe a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. Different rules may apply to qualifying digital content supplied without a tangible medium. Nothing in these Terms waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

8. Territorial availability

Arcana is intended to be available broadly, subject to legal, payment-provider, tax-coverage, risk, security and internal business-policy restrictions. For the public MVP, Arcana limits checkout to billing countries included in its approved launch coverage. Checkout may therefore be unavailable even where a payment provider could technically process a transaction. Availability of a payment method does not guarantee that a particular transaction will be authorised by the payment provider, card network, issuer or bank.

9. Acceptable use

You may not misuse Arcana, interfere with its operation, circumvent access controls or quotas, attempt unauthorised access, use automated means in a way that materially disrupts the service, upload malicious material, or use Arcana in violation of applicable law or another person’s rights.

10. Your content and saved readings

You retain rights you already have in notes or other content you submit. You grant Arcana the limited rights necessary to store, process and display that content to provide the service. Do not submit secrets, payment-card details, unlawful material or information you do not have the right to provide.

11. Arcana content and intellectual property

The Arcana software, original interface, branding, original text, original artwork and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Reference material may also contain public-domain, licensed or otherwise lawfully used elements. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Arcana intellectual property to you.

12. Service changes and availability

We may improve, modify, replace or discontinue features. We aim to keep paid functionality reasonably available, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. Planned roadmap items are intentions rather than promises unless expressly included in a paid offer.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Arcana is provided on an “as available” basis. Tarot and astrology-inspired outputs are interpretive entertainment content, not factual guarantees or professional advice. You remain responsible for decisions you make.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Any limitation or exclusion in these Terms applies only to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law.

15. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, law or our providers change. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. The version presented and accepted for a paid transaction or account policy acceptance will be recorded where required.

17. Governing law and mandatory consumer rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply under the law of their habitual residence or other applicable consumer law. Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to bring a dispute in a court that would not otherwise be competent under mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules.

18. Contact

For service, billing, cancellation, refund or legal-contact requests, use Support / Contact.
